Branch Stock Transfers with Warehouse Connect
Warehouse Connect streamlines inter-branch Stock transfers:-
Precis
Single button to Release a new Stock Transfer into the Warehouse
Transfers are actioned in the Warehouse the same way as other orders:-
Picking / Packing / Dispatch are all the same as a normal Sales Order.
At the Receiving end, the transfer is receipted on the Warehouse, and is immediately available for dispatch.
Bin locations / Put Away is available.
Heat Number tracking is available.
The Posting of the Transfer is done automatically, provided all the goods have been receipted.
No further action is required by admin staff.
Enter a New Transfer
Main Menu - Inventory - Transactions - Transfers
Tab1 - Front Screen
The Receiver is ‘INTERNAL’, this is a special Creditor Code used for Stock transfers
Enter the From & To Branch fields
Enter the Delivery Location, this populates the Delivery details for you.
Note, you will need a site contact attached to this entry for emailing etc
It must be correct as these details are used on the Consignment note.
Tab 2 - Details of Transfer
You enter ONLY the OUTGOING stock codes at first.
The quantity is entered as a NEGATIVE (ie, it is leaving the branch)
No need to touch any of the other fields.
Once you have the items going out, your screen should look something like this:-
Once we have out Outgoing items listed, we can now press ‘Copy Br’ and the transfer will populate the other side’s transactions.
- Receiving Branch Items now populated.
Now we can release the transfer into the warehouse ‘Release to Store’.
- Picking Slip Added to Warehouse Connect
That’s all we need for now, click ‘OK’ to exit the screen.
The transfer now has a status of RW - Released to Warehouse
Warehouse Connect - Outbound Transfer
Outbound Transfers can be accessed in 2 ways:-
Normal All Orders listing
A stock transfer appears no differently to the Warehouse than a normal Sales Order, and is processed exactly the same way.
Transfers Out screen, available from the Main Menu
From this point on, the transfer is Picked / Packed & Dispatched exactly the same as any other sales Order.
Prepare Delivery
Create Consignment
When the Completed button is pressed, the same things happen as per a normal Sales Order
The Consignment label(s) are printed
An Email is sent to the receiving warehouse, together with the Delivery Docket, so they know it is coming
The Original Stock Transfer is Updated with the freight details & it’s status is changed to 'W'.
Status Updated
Outgoing items now appear as ‘Picked’
Warehouse Connect - Inbound Transfer
From the Main Menu, select Transfers In
A list of all outstanding transfers will appear
Receiving the Stock is the same as sending it:-
Bin Locations
If you are using the Expanded Bin Location system, they you can select the Default Bin for the goods to be placed into ready for either dispatch, or to be Put Away.
Posting
When complete, click on Post
You will receive a confirmation message:-
Press OK, and Exit the Screen, job Done.
Original Transfer - transactions
The Original transfer has now been updated:-
Status is now 'F' - Finished
Stock quantities in both branches has been updated.
Transfer has been Posted to the GL.
Procedure End
