Employee with a Single Name
It is possible that an individual may have only one name and, as the given and family names are mandatory within the data standard, the following convention MUST be used in order to purposely provide a single name.
The name of the individual is to be placed into the Surname field.
First Name MUST be populated with the value “NOT APPLICABLE” (Note: quotes not to be included). This will clearly indicate that the individual has a single name and that the provider of the document has not simply failed to provide the given name item.
